This was the first clay project we did during a 3 day children's sculpture workshop. To get them thinking about what a 3d shape is we started with these rainforest reliefs, building a scene up from a flat surface. This was a good way of gently getting the young children to understand how to make a sculpture as mostly they are used to flat drawing and painting. They loved the clay!
